congrats to one year! I've loved your posts, they never fail to make me smile. You've also inspired me to start writing again and I'm maaaybe thinking of starting a blog myself :) keep it up in 2021!

Awesome! I really admire your consistency. Only Child was a welcome dose of interesting thoughts and humor for me this year--so thank you for that. Also, it was really cool learning more about you. Very relatable thought processes as a kid haha. Looking forward to 2021 :)

when it comes to writing my newsletter, I try to remind myself of the original purpose of the newsletter and stick to that. I often repeat K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, stupid) to myself in my head. I really don’t even know where I got that from but it works great. i too can get caught up in wanting to write a Deep Essay, and sometimes I just have to tell myself to save it for the memoir. it takes a lot of pressure off my little old newsletter and makes it a lot more fun. (thanks for the shout out by the way!)

Love the idea of saving up for a memoir (even if it's just a little thought experiment)! Haven't really considered that but sounds like an incredibly fun project for the long run. KISS is super useful too. One lil writing aphorism that I really like is "write to express, not to impress" and I think the idea's similar--say what you mean without overdoing it
